  • Silica, crystalline quartz (wipe) by mod. NIOSH 7500/mod. OSHA ID-142; XRD with and LOQ of 0.005mg collected on 5um 37mm PVC filter
  • Silica, crystalline quartz, cristobalite, & tridymite (wipe) by mod. NIOSH 7500/mod. OSHA ID-142;XRD with LOQs of 0.005, 0.005, and 0.020mg, respectively, and collected on 5um 37mm PVC filter

The following addition has been made to the SAG

  • Asbestos Fiber Count (Clearance Sampling) by NIOSH 7400 “A” Rules; PCM with an LOQ of 5.5 Fibers/100 Fields

October 10, 2019

SAG Deactivation

  • Chloroprene by mod. OSHA PV2120/mod. EPA TO15; GCMS (6L canisters) has been removed from the SAG due to the inability to find a certified second source standard and the infrequency with which it is requested.

The SAG was updated with the following:

  • Isopropyl Alcohol using collection medium Anasorb 747 is now analyzed following method mod. OSHA 5001 (in place of mod. OSHA 109).
  • Ethyl Alcohol using collection medium Anasorb 747 is now analyzed following method mod. OSHA 5001 (in place of mod. OSHA 100).
  • Methyl Alcohol using collection medium Anasorb 747 is now analyzed following method mod. OSHA 5001 (in place of mod. OSHA 91).

September 27, 2019

SAG Deletion

  • Tetrahydrofuran analysis on 3M badges (3500 & 3520); GC was removed from the SAG today due to THF contamination of the media near or exceeding the LOQ.

September 3, 2019

The SAG was updated for the following:

  • Hexachlorobutadiene and 1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene have been added to EPA TO15;GCMS profiles using 6L Canisters The LOQs for these analytes is 0.16ppbv.  In addition, the LOQ for 1,4-Dioxane for the 6L Canister EPA TO15;GCMS profiles has decreased from 0.50ppbv to 0.16ppbv.

A deletion was made in the SAG for the following:

  • Ethyl Alcohol was removed from all GCMS method mod. OSHA PV2120/mod. EPA TO15 for minicans and 6L canisters due to the need for additional dilutions to bring the analyte within the calibration range.

There was a SAG Addition today for:

  • Respirable Dust by method mod. NIOSH 0600/MDHS14/4; Grav using collection medium PVCPW 25mm for DIS w/foam

The SAG was updated today for:

  • Inhalable Dust by method mod. NIOSH 0500/MDHS 14/1; Grav using collection medium PVCPW 25mm for DIS. “The addition of foam plug enables Respirable Particulate collection on this media in addition to Inhalable Particulate, but increases the LOQ from 0.1mg to 0.5mg for Inhalable Particulate. “

  • Additionally, the LOQ for Beryllium has decreased from 0.5 to 0.05ug when using ICP AES analysis with Lead wipe collection medium.

SAG Deactivation

  • LEED (TO-15 and TVOC as Heptane) has been deactivated as it is no longer supported.  The Method has been updated from 2009 to LEEDv4

  • The LOQ for method OSHA PV2120/mod. EPA TO15; GC/MS using summa can collection has been lowered from 0.20 ppbv to 0.16 ppbv for all applicable analytes and from 0.50 ppbv to 0.32 ppbv for m&p-xylene.

  • The LOQs for the Fenceline Monitoring analytes by EPA 325B; GCMS have been updated from 1ng to 2ng and from 2ng to 4ng (m&p-xylene, only).

The following are some recent SAG changes that you won’t see on the online SAG:

  • Crystalline Silica Quartz analysis by NIOSH 7603;IR has been temporarily deactivated and no longer appears on the online SAG.
  • LEED v4 TD List and LEEDv4 TD List Kit for Tenax Tubes by TO-17; GCMS have been added to the online SAG. These entries have been set to internal and are not visible online.

April 1, 2018

The following additions are now on the online SAG:

  • The LOQ was lowered from 6ug to 5ug for Allyl Alcohol collected using Assay 525/566-A personal monitors, analyzed by method mod. NIOSH 1402; GC/FID BADGE
  • The LOQ was raised from 10ug to 20ug for alpha-Methylstyrene collected with 226-01 charcoal tubes , analyzed by method mod. NIOSH 1501; GC/FID

The following additions are now on the online SAG:

  • The Lead Level of Quantitation for 8×10 Glass Fiber Filters using the in-house Pizza-cutter method; ICP, has been lowered from 30 ug to 15ug.
  • The Calcium Level of Quantitation for 37mm and 25mm MCE filters using method mod. NIOSH 7303 / mod. OSHA ID-125G; ICP, has been lowered from 75 ug to 30 ug.

January 24, 2018

The following additions are now on the online SAG:

  • Platinum, metal was updated from OSHA-ID 121 to NISOH 7303 with a lower LOQ of 0.015ug. These samples will no longer require separate collection, digestion, and analysis from the other NIOSH 7303 metals that are analyzed by ICPMS.

  • The Magnesium Level of Quantitation (LOQ) for Lead Wipes by NIOSH 9102 by ICP has changed from 250ug to 500ug.

The following additions are now on the online SAG:

  • Hydrogen Peroxide by method OSHA 1019; Colormetric
  • Formaldehyde and Acetaldehyde by method OSHA 1007 HPLC collected on Assay 581 PM

August 9, 2017

The SAG was updated with the following:

  • The LOQ for Phthalic anhydride on treated GFF by HPLC (mod. OSHA 90) has decreased from 10 ug to 0.5 ug. In addition, method notes have been added stating “ A minimum air volume of 250L is required to meet the OSHA PEL.”

  • LEEDv4 VOCs by GCMS mod. OSHA PV2120/mod.

  • The LOQ for Barium collected on MCE filters analyzed by mod. NIOSH 7300/mod. OSHA ID-125G by ICP/MS has changed from 0.075ug to 0.15ug.

The SAG was updated with the following:

  • The LOQ for Ashpalt fume (benzene soluble fraction) by Gravimetric Method NIOSH 5042 has been increased from 0.050 mg to 0.10 mg.
  • The GCMS LOQs have been lowered for all analytes (with the exception of Propylene which remains at 5.0 ppbv) when using minican as the collection medium for:
    • Volatile Organics 1-3 TO15 List
    • Volatile Organics 4-6 TO15 List
    • Volatile Organics Profile (61) TO15 List &TICs
    • Volatile Organics Profile (61) TO15 List

October 6, 2016

The following updates were made to the SAG yesterday:

  • Furfuryl Alcohol by GC/FIG method NIOSH 2505, the LOQ has been lowered from 10ug to 5ug using sampling collection volume of 6-25L. This is to meet the 2016 ACGIH Notice of Intended Changes.
  • Nitrogen Dioxide by in-house method WT-SOP-14 (Colormetric) has been noted as “protect samples from light” and “ship overnight refrigerated”
  • Silica, crystalline by NIOSH 7500 – al methods have been noted as the preferred method over the IR method (NIOSH 7603).
