You can now assure compliance more easily to the new OSHA silica standard with SGSGalson’s new silica report format. We’ve redesigned the report to match the reporting requirements of the new standard allowing you to easily compare your results to the new regulation. And of course you’re in the best hands as SGS Galson currently meets all of the new laboratory qualifications for silica and we’re ready to help. Note, the final rule reduces the permissible exposure limit for crystalline silica to 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air, averaged over an eight-hour shift.
You should note that the new OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) only applies to respirable silica samples and total silica samples no longer have an applicable PEL. The proper respirable silica sampling equipment is available to you through our popular FreePumpLoan™ program. Make sure you request the sampling pumps, media and cyclones to collect your exposure samples for respirable silica to compare to the new standard. Client Service Representatives will talk you through any questions you may have.
