It is with great pleasure that we announce to you today that Galson Laboratories, Inc. has been acquired by SGS SA and will continue operating as Galson Laboratories under the umbrella of SGS North America, Inc.  SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company and is recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. With more than 80,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 1,650 offices and laboratories around the world. We are extremely proud that Galson Laboratories has been designated as the SGS Center of Excellence for Industrial Hygiene Lab Services within its global network.

The entire management team and all employees have been retained in the transaction to carry on what you have come to expect with quality, service and innovation. The leadership team at SGS has told us they have seen in all their interactions that Galson is a well-functioning company, and they would like to take some of our world-class quality and service processes and incorporate them where they can across the globe. We feel very good about that!

We now have the task of integrating some of our internal functions with SGS North America, but will take as much time as is needed to assure no disruption in the operations of our company as we continue to grow. The plans for the integration are being developed and you will be made aware of any changes implemented. Until you are made aware of any changes we will continue to do business with you as we are currently. All contracts and agreements remain valid – we will work to update any legal entity changes on all agreements as they come due for renewal or if we are able to make the change with the least amount of effort on your part.

For those of you that know our team well, you know we will all stand committed to meeting your needs in every way we can 24/7/365 – it’s what we do. The team here at Galson Laboratories is proud that SGS selected Galson as the Center of Excellence for Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Services. Our original Vision in 1989 was to be nationally recognized for quality. We bought the lab in 1996 and rededicated ourselves to industrial hygiene analysis and our Vision. We achieved that vision in 2008 when we obtained ISO 17025 Accreditation (a world-wide accreditation for quality) from A2LA and had active clients in all 50 states as well as work from over 35 countries. We reset our vision at that time to be the global leaders in providing the means to collect data to protect workers. After six exciting years of international and domestic growth toward that new Vision, we are on the threshold of obtaining it as we take on our role with a global giant in SGS.

We are excited by the opportunities we see before us. We expect to have an even greater ability to serve you with an expanded set of analyses over a greater geographic range. We thank you for your trust in us with your extremely important data needs. And we thank you for your business and support over the 17 years we owned the company, the 20+ years many of us have been here, and the 44 years Galson Laboratories has been in business.
