Discover Innovative IH Analysis and Monitoring Solutions

If you’re planning to attend the TVS-AIHA Fall PDC & Conference in the Knoxville, Tennessee area, November 6-8, please visit the SGS Galson booth. You’ll discover the most experienced, innovative and client-oriented company for your IH analysis and monitoring solutions.

What You’ll Find at the SGS Galson booth

Help to Comply with Current Silica Regulations
The general public was given a loud wake-up call with a recent National Public Radio (NPR) story titled Workers Are Falling Ill, Even Dying, After Making Kitchen Countertops about engineered stone workers in the U.S. and around the world contracting silicosis. Partnering with SGS Galson results in strict compliance with OSHA regulations, precise analysis and quick turnaround.

With the new eight-hour time weighted average (TWA) permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 µg/m3, and action level (AL) of 25 µg/m3 now being enforced, SGS Galson will assure compliance with these OSHA standards. We meet all the requirements listed in the new OSHA silica standard and our new silica kits and renowned FreePumpLoan™ program will provide exactly what you need to easily monitor your silica dust hazards.

For the mining industry, we offer a low cost MSHA Self-Compliance Kit that provides you dust and silica monitoring as well as noise monitoring to cover all of your self-compliance reporting requirements. If you operate quarries, gravel pits, aggregate pits, or metal/non-metal mines, ease your mind about your next MSHA inspection by collecting your samples in an easy and cost-effective way.

Innovative Cloud Remote Sensor Monitoring
Learn about Smart Sense, real-time monitoring and sampling initiation system. Direct read capabilities include Total Particulate, PID, CO, CO2, SO2, O3, EtO, CH4 and more! Paired with the direct read sensors, active sampling capabilities include: silica, VOCs, metals, and more! This is a great tool for collecting exposure data 24/7 for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), perimeter and task monitoring, and other monitoring situations.

Ethylene Oxide in Ambient Air

  • The EPA identified ethylene oxide (EtO) as a potential concern with a new analytical procedure that reports as low as 0.04 ppbv in ambient air. SGS Galson developed a procedure to analyze EtO samples using evacuated canisters at the extremely low levels required for ambient air analysis.
  • The EPA considers the safe level of EtO to be 0.20 ppbv or lower and SGS Galson has responded with these EtO Limits of Quantification:
    6L Summa Canister         0.04 ppbv
    Minican                            0.20 ppbv
