There is a temporary 10-day turnaround time for all gravimetric analysis on preweighed media. For petroleum based, non-synthetic oils only. Send an undiluted, unused bulk if possible. A SDS must be submitted with the bulk. Submitted bulk will be used as a standard and billed at US$78. If technical review of the material deems it unmatched for this method, the samples will be analyzed according to NIOSH 5524 (for metal working fluids). Interferences: any aerosols which absorb infrared radiation near 2950cm-1 (ex. tobacco smoke)

Oil Mist, Mineral is a colorless, oily liquid aerosol dispersed in air and has an odor like burned lubricating oil.  It can be absorbed in the body through inhalation, skin or eye contact, or ingestion.  It can cause irritated eyes, skin, and respiratory system.
