Nickel
Sampling & Analysis

Nickel comes in the form a silvery-white hard, yet malleable, metal.  It is used as an alloy in the production of coins, in magnets, and plating on plumbing fixtures.

The substance enters the body in its dust form through inhalation.  While it can irritate the eyes, it primarily irritates the respiratory tract. Long-term exposure can result in pneumonia and asthma.
