Magnesium oxide Sampling & Analysis
Magnesium Oxide comes in the form hygroscopic fine white powder. It is used in industry as a lubricant, in adhesives/sealants, in pigments, and as a plating agent. It is also used in paper products, air care products, automotive care products, antacids and laxatives, and paints.
The substance enters the body through ingestion, inhalation, or skin/eye contact. It can irritate the skin, the eyes, the nose, and can cause something called “metal fever”, which presents flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, chest pain, vomiting, and even high blood pressure.
