Arsine Sampling & Analysis
Arsine comes in the form a colorless gas. It is used in the semiconductor and computer chip crystal manufacturing industry.
The highly toxic substance enters the body through inhalation. Very light exposure produces headache, weakness, thirst, shivering, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, shortness of breath, possible garlic odor on the breath, and possible red staining of the membranes of the eye. Severe symptoms include: pulmonary edema, delayed central nervous system disorders, low blood pressure, muscle pain, and cramps. As the destruction of red blood cells continues, additional symptoms include loss of appetite, blood in the urine, bronze coloration of the skin, and jaundice within a day or two. Death can occur.
