Sampling & Analysis

Tungsten comes in the form of a brittle, hard, steel-gray-to-white solid metal.   As an alloy, it is used in the manufacture of incandescent light bulbs, x-ray tubes, electrodes, and radiation shielding.

The substance enters the body through inhalation, ingestion, or skin/eye contact.  It can irritate the eyes, skin, and respiratory system, as well as cause loss of appetite, nausea, coughing, blood changes, and pulmonary fibrosis.
