Manufacturer recommends returning samples to the laboratory within 14 days of the sampling event. For the 566 badge a minimum sampling time of 45min is required to meet the OSHA PEL and the TLV.

Naphthalene comes in the form of a colorless-to-brown solid with an odor of mothballs.  It is the main ingredient in traditional mothballs.

The substance enters the body through inhalation, ingestion, skin absorption, or skin/eye contact.  It can cause severe irritation of the eyes and skin; it can also cause headache, confusion, excitement, malaise, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, irritation of the bladder; profuse sweating; blood in the urine, jaundice, renal shutdown, dermatitis, optical neuritis, and corneal damage.
