Kerosene comes in the form of a colorless-to-yellowish oily liquid with a strong, characteristic odor.  It is used as a cooking fuel, lighting fuel, and rocket fuel.

The substance enters the body through inhalation, ingestion, or skin/eye contact.  It can cause irritation of the eyes, skin, nose, and throat; it can also cause a burning sensation in the chest, headache, nausea, weakness, restlessness, incoordination, confusion, drowsiness, vomiting, diarrhea, and dermatitis.
