Acrylonitrile
Sampling & Analysis

Acrylonitrile comes in the form of a colorless-to-pale-yellow liquid with an unpleasant odor.  It is used as a fumigant, and as a precursor in other chemical compounds.

The substance enters the body through inhalation, ingestion, or skin/eye contact.  It causes irritated eyes and skin, as well as asphyxia, headache, sneezing, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.  It can also trigger pustules or blisters on the skin.
