Login Technician

Description:

Full time, non-exempt, login technician (aka sample custody technician) job opportunity is available for an energetic, organized, detail-oriented individual.

Work Involves:

  • Processing the receipt and tracking of air quality related industrial hygiene testing samples which our clients have submitted to our labs for analysis
  • Review chain of custody and quality control documents of the testing samples
  • Labeling and storing the testing samples using ICOC processes
  • Communicating via in-person, electronically/computer and telephone with clients (and co-workers) to coordinate the login receipt, process and status of the testing samples
  • Performs other related tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and one year of general business (and data entry) experience or High School diploma and three years of general business (and data entry) experience. Science background preferred. Team player, well organized, detail-oriented, good oral and written communications skills.

Environmental Health and Safety Specialist / Quality Assurance Monitor

Description:

Full-time, exempt position available in East Syracuse, NY for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist / Quality Assurance Monitor. This is a split position where the majority of work performed is done as the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist and the remaining work involves performing Quality Assurance tasks.  In the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist role, the individual will coordinate all safety program responsibilities and monitoring activities for the lab, ensuring that compliance is maintained with SGS and regulatory requirements. This includes but is not limited to reviewing, revising, and implementing policies, performing safety inspections, managing safety audits, investigating safety and environmental concerns and incidents, implementing preventative and corrective actions, coordinating and overseeing safety awareness training, preparing monthly, bimonthly and other reports as needed, managing the hazardous waste disposal program. In the Quality Assurance Monitor role, the individual will work as part of a team and will be responsible for performing internal audits, monitoring preventative and corrective action procedures, reviewing and approving forms and SOPs, enforcing QA policies and procedures, and other duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

BS Degree in Science with a minimum of 3 years of safety management work experience with OSHA regulations. Practical skills and knowledge of safety rules and regulations required. Attention to detail, strong organization skills, ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines, strong oral, listening and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of basic lab procedures and a chemical background is required. Overtime is required. Experience with RCRA Hazardous Waste Management and DOT Hazardous Waste Transportation preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to wear a respirator. Ability to independently and safely move up to 50 pounds; bend, crawl, kneel and stand for extended periods of time; climb stairs; reach with hands and arms; and, regularly sit while using hands to use a computer, phone and other technologies.

Laboratory Analysts Needed: Microbiology and Asbestos

Description:

Now filling vacancies in our Microbiology and Asbestos Laboratories.
Full-time and part-time Laboratory Analyst and/or Laboratory Technician are needed in our Microbiology and Asbestos laboratories at our East Syracuse, NY location.
Previous experience in the analysis of industrial hygiene samples for either microbiology spore counts or asbestos fibers is preferred, but can train.

Qualifications and Skills:

BS in Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science preferred with a strong microbiology background. NIOSH 582 or equivalent certification and previous PLM microscopy experience or coursework is preferred. Candidates must have strong analytical skills, demonstrate responsibility, innovation, independence, have leadership qualities and enjoy working in a continuous improvement team environment.

Industrial Hygiene CSR - WEST COAST

Description:

We are looking for an energetic, client focused individual to join our West Coast client services team by providing environmental air quality and industrial hygiene based solutions to our clients.

This position will be located in our Irvine, CA office. Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask  and work independently in a fast paced environment. This individual will be part of a top-notch client service team and be networked into the client service call center working one-on-one via phone and chat. Bi-Lingual abilities are a plus for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Consults with clients regarding routine and appropriate analytical methods, sampling media and sampling techniques.
  • Reviews work orders of samples submitted for completeness.
  • Provide clients with written quotations.
  • Responsible for keeping all accounts projected managed up-to-date and accurate. (Updating comments, removing people no longer with organization, making sure all documents have been completed and returned by client.)
  • Responsible for listening to client in order to have a full understanding of any conversation that takes place and then being able to document any conversations with client.
  • Responsible for being 100% thorough when coming in contact with client whether it be verbally, in writing or through their sample submittals.
  • Responsible for continually looking for ways to improve processes.
  • Communicates any issues pertaining to clients, method development, sample submittals, reports, etc.
  • Enters calls and sample preps into lab software “csmenu” daily.
  • Responsible for the timely response to all e-mail, voicemail, verbal and written requests.
  • Operates within the guiding principles of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science.
  • Experience in the industrial hygiene industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated telephone, communication and computer skills are a must.
  • The ability and or the aptitude to be able to set up and calibrate equipment would be a plus.
  • Able to work 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST daily, M-F, 40 hours per week.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
