Lab Analysts - GC & XRD

Description:

Full-time and part-time positions available in Syracuse, NY in the following laboratories:

  • Gas Chromatography (GC) laboratory. Must have strong analytical skills and demonstrate responsibility, innovation, independence, have leadership qualities and enjoy working in a continuous improvement team environment.
  • X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Growing X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) Laboratory. XRD preps and analyzes samples on x-ray diffraction instrumentation then evaluates the data and reports those results to clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science required … the area of Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science is preferred. FT, PT, entry level and experienced positions are available. Overtime may be required at times.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation to effectively handle delicate samples, equipment and/or small tools. Ability to perform repetitive movements. Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 30 pounds occasionally. Requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching in all directions. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Industrial Hygiene Client Service Representative - Syracuse, NY

Description:

We are looking for an energetic, client focused individual to join the client services team by providing environmental air quality and industrial hygiene based solutions to clients.

This position will be based in our East Syracuse, New York office.

Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment. The individual will be part of a top-notch client service call center working one-on-one via phone and online chat. Bi-lingual abilities are a plus for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Consults with clients regarding routine and appropriate analytical methods, sampling media and sampling techniques.
  • Reviews work orders of samples submitted for completeness.
  • Provide clients with written quotations.
  • Responsible for keeping all accounts projected managed up-to-date and accurate. (Updating comments, removing people no longer with organization, making sure all documents have been completed and returned by client.)
  • Responsible for listening to client in order to have a full understanding of any conversation that takes place and then being able to document any conversations with client.
  • Responsible for being 100% thorough when coming in contact with client whether it be verbally, in writing or through their sample submittals.
  • Responsible for continually looking for ways to improve processes.
  • Communicates any issues pertaining to clients, method development, sample submittals, reports, etc.
  • Enters calls and sample preps into lab software “csmenu” daily.
  • Responsible for the timely response to all e-mail, voicemail, verbal and written requests.
  • Operates within the guiding principles of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science.
  • Experience in the industrial hygiene industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated telephone, communication and computer skills are a must.
  • Able to work Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Attributes: punctuality; professional and friendly appearance and demeanor; good organizational skills; ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail; ability to operate in a production environment; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly climb stairs, occasionally reach with hands and arms, and regularly sit while using a computer, phone and other technologies. Strong oral, listening and written communications skills are required.
