Inventory Control Specialist

Full Time Inventory Control Specialist is needed to manage the pumps, air testing equipment, etc. inventory. This new position is based in our East Syracuse, NY office, where the majority of equipment is maintained and housed, and will include the inventory within our three satellite locations. In addition, the Inventory Control Specialist contacts clients as needed and provides support to our Client Services and Pump/Prep groups.

Description:

  • Develop and maintain a reliable inventory list of equipment available.
  • Develop processes for retiring broken/missing equipment, ordering replacements, and projecting future needs based on past data.
  • Contact clients to follow up regarding past-due equipment.
  • Responsible for communicating with client to have a full understanding of any conversation that takes place and documenting the details.
  • Responsible for being 100% thorough when coming in contact with client whether it be verbally, in writing or through their sample submittals.
  • Enters calls and sample preps into lab software “csmenu” daily.
  • Responsible for the timely response to all e-mail, voicemail, verbal and written requests.
  • Consults with clients regarding routine and appropriate analytical methods, sampling media and sampling techniques.
  • Responsible for continually looking for ways to improve processes.
  • Operates within the guiding principles of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required in a science-related field
  • Minimum two years experience in Inventory Control preferred.
  • Experience in the industrial hygiene industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated telephone, communication and computer skills are a must.
  • Able to work Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation to effectively handle delicate samples, equipment and/or small tools. Ability to perform repetitive movements. Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching in all directions. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
